Steel Dynamics reported a significant increase in second-quarter profit and revenue, driven by improved steel pricing and robust demand. The company posted a profit of $534.1 million, or $3.69 a share, a substantial jump from the $298.7 million, or $2.01 a share, recorded in the same period last year.

Revenue climbed to $6.09 billion, exceeding analysts' expectations and demonstrating strong market performance. This growth was primarily attributed to favorable pricing within its steel operations.

Despite a $16 million non-cash asset impairment charge related to relocating an aluminum recycled slab center, the company's overall financial results were strong. Steel Dynamics anticipates continued healthy domestic steel and aluminum consumption through the remainder of 2026.
