Starbucks is focusing on ensuring all food items are available to customers after successfully speeding up drink service across its U.S. stores. The company has implemented increased cafe labor and a new scheduling algorithm to improve efficiency.

According to Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams, U.S. stores are now nearly fully staffed, with over 98% of scheduled shifts being filled. This, combined with the order scheduling algorithm, has led to a significant reduction in wait times.

The coffee giant is now achieving its goal of delivering a majority of U.S. in-store and drive-through orders within four minutes. This translates to a 24-second reduction for cafe orders and a 12-second reduction for drive-through orders in the third quarter, marking a notable improvement in service speed as part of CEO Brian Niccol's turnaround efforts.
