The U.K. group Next PLC announced on Wednesday that it now targets a pretax profit of 1.24 billion pounds for the fiscal year ending January 2027, up from the previous 1.22 billion pounds estimate.

Full‑price sales are projected to rise 6.3 % to 6 billion pounds, surpassing the earlier 5 % forecast. In the second fiscal quarter, full‑price sales climbed 9.2 % year‑on‑year, exceeding the company’s 4 % target.

Next attributes the stronger results to warmer weather, the release of pent‑up demand in the Middle East and Northern Europe following a subdued first quarter, and a higher‑margin marketing spend.

Seen as a bellwether for the retail sector, the updated guidance signals optimism amid a recovering market and suggests that Next’s strategy of targeted promotions and price‑sensitive advertising is yielding tangible gains.
