Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In nonprofit has cut roughly a quarter of its workforce, a significant reduction reflecting a strategic pivot. The organization, which promotes workplace equality for women, is now prioritizing a fight against the 'tradwife' and manosphere movements that advocate for traditional gender roles. More than a dozen employees have departed the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, which houses LeanIn.

Org, over the past year through layoffs or voluntary departures, sources indicate. On Tuesday, Sandberg announced that 25-year-old Bridget Griswold, a recent Brown University graduate and former Meta product manager, will lead Lean In. Her rapid promotion, despite a lack of nonprofit experience, has reportedly contributed to staff attrition.

Sandberg, who stepped down from Meta in 2022 and its board in 2024, has re-engaged with the foundation, concerned it was losing focus. This comes despite growth in Lean In's Circles peer groups and a data partnership with McKinsey & Company.
