EssilorLuxottica, the maker of Ray-Ban and Oakley sunglasses, reported a slight slowdown in sales growth for the second quarter. The company achieved 8.7% year-over-year organic growth, reaching 7.69 billion euros ($8.74 billion), a dip from the 11% growth seen in the first quarter.

Despite this moderation, revenue from smartglasses, developed in partnership with Meta, nearly doubled. Sales in the Asia-Pacific region were a strong driver, increasing by 17% following the acquisition of optical retailer Top Charoen's store network in Thailand.

However, sales in North America and Europe showed softer trends, partly attributed to the conflict in the Middle East. EssilorLuxottica maintained its five-year guidance for "solid growth" in total revenue and operating profit, without providing specific numerical targets.
