Amazon has announced a multi-year agreement to bring its Amazon Leo satellite internet to Delta Air Lines flights starting in 2028. The technology will provide high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi from gate-to-gate across 500 aircraft, powered by a constellation of satellites orbiting 370 miles above Earth.

Each Delta plane will be equipped with a single purpose-built phased array antenna supporting download speeds up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 400 Mbps. This represents a significant upgrade from current in-flight internet options, potentially enabling streaming video, video calls, and other bandwidth-intensive activities during flights.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy highlighted the partnership as an example of how Leo technology can bring faster internet to tens of millions of passengers annually. The service will be free for all Delta SkyMiles members, continuing the airline's commitment to passenger connectivity.
