Sports streaming firm DAZN has agreed to acquire technology provider ViewLift for roughly $100 million, according to sources familiar with the transaction. The London‑based operator, which delivers soccer, boxing and basketball to more than 200 territories, aims to solidify its foothold in the U.S. sports market. The purchase marks the broadcaster’s largest strategic cash outlay to date.

DAZN already streams NFL Game Pass, giving international subscribers access to American football. By adding ViewLift’s cloud‑based video platform, the company hopes to streamline content delivery, reduce latency and offer richer significant interactive features to U.S. viewers. Analysts see the move as a bid to compete more aggressively with entrenched players such as ESPN+, Amazon Prime Video and the emerging Apple Sports tier.

The acquisition expands DAZN’s technology stack at a time when streaming margins are under pressure and advertisers demand higher engagement. If ViewLift integration succeeds, DAZN could boost immediate subscriber growth and command stronger advertising rates in the lucrative American market. The deal underscores the broadcaster’s willingness to spend significant capital to chase scale rather than rely solely on content licensing.
