BMW delivered 1.16 million vehicles in the first half of the year, down 4.2% from the same period in 2025. China alone saw a 20% sales decline, accelerating to a 30% drop in the second quarter.

Other regions offset the loss: Europe grew 5.4%, and the Americas rose 3%. U.S. and European markets remained positive, according to Jochen Goller, BMW’s board member for brands and sales.

The electric‑vehicle segment gained momentum with the launch of the new iX3 model, but the group trimmed its 2026 outlook, warning of a slight decline in auto sales after a previously flat growth forecast. Middle‑East turbulence added pressure.

These headwinds tighten BMW’s profitability path, compelling investors to monitor the company’s ability to sustain sales in Europe and the U.S. while battling intense competition in China and navigating global supply‑chain stresses.
