Canadian travel to the U.S. continues its steep decline amid trade tensions, with Statistics Canada reporting a 31.5% drop in return trips from the U.S. compared to February 2024. February 2025 data shows Canadians made 1.5 million return trips from the U.S., down 14.5% year-over-year, while overseas air travel from Canada rose 7.2% to 1.3 million trips.

LNG supply vulnerabilities are emerging across Asia as countries show varying dependence on Gulf shipments. While China and Japan maintain low exposure, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Korea face higher risks. With LNG inventories covering only about 21 days compared to eight months for oil, economists warn that severe disruptions could force countries to either pay premium prices or reduce power consumption.

Marine fuel costs are surging across Asian ports, driving up shipping expenses. Bunker fuel prices have more than doubled in a month, with fuel oil at China's Zhoushan port rising 136% to $1,130 per ton and marine gasoil in Singapore up 190% to $1,932 per ton. For a VLCC making the West Africa-to-China journey, additional bunker costs could reach $1.5 million, while container ships face daily extra expenses of $80,000-100,000.
