Alex Gibney directs a four-hour documentary about Elon Musk that, though engaging, tends toward the hyperbolic. The film examines Musk's various ventures, including Tesla, SpaceX, and his role in the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency. While the documentary offers insight into Musk's complex persona, it often resorts to exaggerated portrayals that may leave viewers questioning the film's objectivity.
The extensive runtime allows for deep exploration, yet the narrative frequently stretches credibility, reflecting the polarizing nature of its subject. Gibney's approach captures the tech titan's ambition but struggles to maintain balance amidst the sensationalism surrounding Musk's controversial decisions and public statements.
