US stock futures fell Thursday as oil prices climbed and Treasury yields rose. S&P 500 futures slipped 0.5% and Nasdaq 100 contracts dropped 0.8%, extending losses for the tech-heavy index. Brent crude surged nearly 3% to over $94 a barrel, its highest in four weeks, after President Donald Trump warned Iran of economic warfare. The 10-year yield reached 4.70%, with bonds trimming Wednesday gains following Treasury buyback announcements.

Walmart Inc. reported disappointing second-quarter earnings, with shares falling 5.7% in premarket trading. Comparable sales at US stores rose just 2.6%, missing estimates and marking the slowest growth in over six years. Target Corp. and Dollar General Corp. also saw shares decline.

Market participants await Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium for rate cut signals. Analysts question whether current policy measures will sustain market momentum.

Other notable moves included Moderna Inc. dropping 8.9% after a 177% surge Wednesday, and Advanced Auto Parts Inc. falling 20% despite maintaining full-year guidance.
