U.S. stocks rose after Nvidia's rosy growth projection eased fears about the AI boom's sustainability. The Dow gained 105.65 points (0.20%) to 53569.44, the S&P 500 added 55.29 points (0.72%) to 7730.99, and the Nasdaq climbed 411.16 points (1.57%) to 26541.35. Gains came despite a rise in oil futures, which added $1.30 to $83.53 a barrel amid skepticism about Iran-Oman talks.

Treasury yields inched up, with the 30-year at 5.190% and the 10-year at 4.671%. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is set to speak at Jackson Hole, while Boston Fed President Susan Collins hinted at possible rate hikes if inflation doesn't decline. Strategist Jim Paulsen noted slowing retail sales, employment, and consumer sentiment, calling housing activity "punk." Nvidia shares surged 8.7% after CFO Colette Kress projected 70% revenue growth for fiscal 2028, easing worries about data-center spending.

Salesforce jumped 23% on strong earnings and an Anthropic joint venture, defying the "SaaS apocalypse" narrative. Analyst John Di Fucci said AI is a paradigm shift, not a death knell. Other software stocks rose, with Palo Alto Networks up 13%, Okta up 29%, Adobe up 5.7%, and ServiceNow up 10%.

Sandisk slipped 1% after announcing a $31 billion investment in Kioxia's Japan chip plant, despite shares having risen fivefold this year. Novo Nordisk fell 2%.
