UK Regulator Eases Listing Rules to Boost London

The UK’s top financial regulator is easing rules around information sharing linked to initial public offerings as London seeks to become a more attractive listing destination. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will align its rules on analysts hired during the listing process with those in New York, rolling back changes introduced in 2018.

This reform aims to revive London’s fortunes as a listing hub, simplifying the regulatory environment and making it easier for firms to raise capital.

“We want the U.K. market to be an attractive place for companies to raise capital and grow,” said Jon Relleen, FCA’s director of infrastructure and exchanges, on Wednesday.

The shift is part of a broader effort to keep London competitive against other global markets by reducing barriers for companies looking to list on the UK exchanges.
