Meanwhile, the SEC climate rule rescission faces significant investor opposition. Shareholders are pushing back against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s bid to cut a Biden-era proposal that would have mandated climate risk and emissions reporting.

Public comments to the SEC overwhelmingly opposed the agency’s decision. A Risk Journal analysis showed that at least four out of five organizations that authored submissions opposed the rescission, and the SEC received more than 18,000 form-letter submissions opposing the plan.
