Shares of computer-memory companies Western Digital and Sandisk experienced significant drops following their quarterly earnings reports. Sandisk's forward guidance fell slightly below analyst estimates, while Western Digital's outlook met expectations, yet both companies saw their stock prices decline, with Western Digital falling 13% and Sandisk dropping 7%.

Elsewhere, oil prices saw a notable jump, with Brent crude climbing nearly 4%, as investors monitored potential developments regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Honeywell Aerospace shares tumbled 23% after the company, recently spun off from Honeywell Technologies, lowered its annual outlook due to supply constraints impacting sales growth. Data-security firm Datadog also sank 19% after reporting that a major AI customer is reducing usage, leading to a lowered sales outlook for the year.

In a separate matter, investor Ram Rupireddy is facing a potential nightmare after investing in a New Jersey firm that offered private shares in companies like Space X. Rupireddy invested in a fund holding Space X shares, which he believed were valued at $58 billion in 2020. However, the firm later informed him that these shares were sold in 2024, when his holding was worth $45,450, a stark contrast to Space X's subsequent public valuation of $1.77 trillion.
