The bitcoin treasury company reported a second-quarter loss of $8.22 billion, or $24.45 a share, a significant shift from a profit of $10.02 billion, or $32.60 a share, in the prior year. This downturn was attributed to a "meaningful bitcoin price decline" and "muted bitcoin sentiment and market skepticism." Analysts had anticipated a loss of $2.19 a share.

Despite the net loss, revenue saw an increase, rising to $122.4 million from $114.5 million, though it fell slightly short of Wall Street's expectation of $122.9 million. The company also expanded its bitcoin holdings, growing them by 11% to 846,000 bitcoin. Concurrently, it reduced its convertible debt by 18% to $6.7 billion.
