Asian stocks were mixed on Thursday following Nvidia's second-quarter earnings, which beat expectations with record sales of $96.2 billion. The U.S. chip maker's 70% revenue growth guidance for fiscal 2028 significantly exceeded analyst projections of 45%, though concerns emerged about slowing momentum. Technology analyst Luke Lango noted that revenue growth rates had accelerated for five consecutive quarters, but third-quarter guidance suggests deceleration.

The AI bellwether's initial boost faded across regional markets. South Korea's Kospi rose 1.4%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index added 0.5%, and Taiwan's Taiex gained 1.0%. Meanwhile, Japan's Nikkei fell 0.4%, Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index declined 0.6%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.5%.

Crude oil futures slipped as traders monitored Oman-Iran talks regarding a temporary framework to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with front-month WTI crude falling 0.3% to $81.98 per barrel and Brent crude down 0.1% to $87.76.
