Brady Ebert, a founding member of the Baltimore hardcore punk band Turnstile, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault after allegedly driving his car into 79-year-old William Yates, the father of Brendan Yates, Turnstile’s lead vocalist. The incident occurred in Silver Spring, Md., where Yates was helping his family exit a vehicle when Ebert reportedly swerved toward him, struck him, and fled the scene. Security camera footage captured the altercation, and Yates suffered severe leg injuries.

Ebert, 33, was held without bond following a court hearing. The band issued a statement condemning Ebert’s actions, citing a history of harmful behavior since his 2022 departure from the group. Ebert and Brendan Yates co-founded Turnstile in 2010, with the band achieving mainstream success through albums like *Glow On* and *Never Enough*, which earned Grammy Awards.

The case has sparked discussions about accountability within music communities, with Turnstile emphasizing their commitment to safety. Ebert’s defense attorney has not commented, and the trial is set for April 10.
