Influential conservative commentator Tucker Carlson announced plans to help build a third political party, signaling a significant break from Donald Trump and the Republican establishment. Carlson cited deep disagreements over foreign policy, particularly the U.S. involvement in wars in the Middle East, as the primary driver for this new venture. He stated that both major parties are too aligned on these critical issues.

Carlson, formerly of Fox News, now hosts a weekly podcast and expressed frustration that the concerns of ordinary Americans are overlooked. He believes the current political system fails to prioritize the welfare of citizens earning around $60,000 annually. Despite his new initiative, Carlson made it clear he has no intention of running as a candidate for the proposed party.

The commentator's critique of Trump intensified after the president initiated airstrikes on Iran, leading to a protracted conflict. Carlson has also condemned Israel's war in Gaza. Trump, in turn, publicly criticized Carlson, labeling him and other dissenting voices as "losers" who "couldn’t even finish College."

Carlson’s move echoes past third-party discussions, though launching a successful independent party faces substantial hurdles in fundraising, ballot access, and infrastructure. Marjorie Taylor Greene has also indicated discussions about forming a similar "America-focused party." Tucker Carlson is now actively seeking to create an alternative political force.
