President Trump appeared on nearly every major news channel Tuesday during his United Nations General Assembly speech, even as five networks suspended pool coverage after he barred several outlets from the White House. ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC joined CNN in pulling out of the designated camera consortium, citing solidarity with the banned network. The exception was CNN, which aired other stories during Trump's remarks.

Most networks used footage from United Nations TV, a U.N.-operated broadcasting system that functions as a kind of C-SPAN for events on the U.N. campus in Manhattan. U.N. TV is not part of the five-network consortium and provided a live feed that most channels carried with onscreen captions identifying it as the source. The New York Times also carried the U.N. feed. Trump was greeted by reporters including CNN's Kaitlan Collins upon entering the U.N., to which he responded, "You shouldn't be covering me." He later met with world leaders including President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and Prime Minister Andy Burnham of Britain, events that U.N. TV will cover with its own camera crew.
