President Donald Trump said the Board of Peace has reached an agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. A senior Hamas official told the BBC that the plan will be publicly released soon, and Israel has yet to comment.

The agreement, part of the second phase of a U.S.-brokered Gaza ceasefire plan, also includes reconstruction of Gaza. Trump said Israeli forces would withdraw as disarmament is completed, while an International Stabilization Force would work with a new Palestinian police force to secure the territory. Earlier this year, Hamas elected new leader Khalil al‑Hayya after the death of Yahya Sinwar. The group’s attack on Israel on 7 October 2023 killed 1,200 people and triggered a massive Israeli campaign in Gaza that has claimed more than 73,290 lives, including 21,280 children, according to the Hamas‑run health ministry.

The Board of Peace’s deal marks a major milestone in implementing Trump’s 20‑Point Plan, with carefully structured phases aimed at ending the Gaza conflict and establishing a new Palestinian government.
