Palestinian farmer Muhammad Gawanmeh fled his home after repeated settler attacks, only to find the same assailants追踪 him to Al-Awsaj, an area designated under Palestinian administration. Last weekend, seven masked settlers attacked Gawanmeh and his family as they cowered in tents, using pepper spray and beating him with a nail-studded baton.

Settler violence has intensified across the West Bank, with an average of seven attacks daily recorded recently. The Israeli military and police frequently fail to intervene and sometimes protect the attackers. These assaults have forced thousands of Palestinians from their homes, particularly since the Hamas-led attack on Israel in October 2023.

Last weekend saw nearly 20 separate attacks, including one where Israeli soldiers fatally shot a teenager during a settler rampage in territory under Palestinian control. The violence continues expanding beyond Area C, where Israel maintains control, into Area A regions that should be autonomous Palestinian space.
