A shooting at Seattle's Bite of Seattle food festival on Sunday evening left three dead and at least four wounded. Authorities arrested a 15-year-old in connection with the incident, though not on homicide charges, and are searching for a second suspect believed to have been involved in a shootout.

Seattle Assistant Police Chief Tyrone Davis stated that two individuals were believed to be shooting at each other. Two guns were recovered at the scene. The victims included a 19-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman who later died from her injuries. Several other individuals, including a 2-year-old boy, sustained injuries and were hospitalized.

The shooting occurred near the Space Needle around 6 p.m. local time. The area was crowded with attendees of the annual food festival. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Washington state SWAT team responded to assist Seattle police. This incident brings the U.S. total mass shootings for 2026 to 271, according to the Gun Violence Archive, putting the year on track to surpass 2025's total.
