Savannah Guthrie said she believes two ransom notes demanding Bitcoin payment are most likely from her mother's abductor. The Today show host spoke in her first interview since her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was taken from her home near Tucson nearly two months ago. Guthrie described receiving a call from her sister saying their mother was missing, with back doors propped open and personal belongings still inside.

Guthrie said the family initially thought Nancy might have had a medical emergency, but quickly realized this wasn't the case. Her mother takes medication that family members said she could die without. The Pima County Sheriff's Department and FBI are leading the investigation, which has faced criticism as weeks pass without significant developments. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy's return.

The abduction has taken a heavy emotional toll on Guthrie, who expressed guilt that her celebrity status may have made her mother a target. She has pleaded multiple times on Instagram for tips and for the abductor to do the right thing. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after dinner with her daughter and was most likely taken around 2:30 a.m. on February 1 when her pacemaker lost contact with her cellphone.
