The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences expressed "extreme upset" after actress Teyana Taylor accused a security officer of shoving her at the 98th Oscars. The incident occurred at the Dolby Theater, where Taylor repeatedly called the man "rude" for putting his hands on her. The Academy condemned what it called not acceptable behavior by an outside security firm's employee.

System Industry Specialists Inc., the contracted security firm, acknowledged a "brief interaction" with Taylor during which "incidental contact" occurred. The company stated its personnel were managing a crowded area to ensure guest safety. The Academy has made clear to the vendor that such behavior doesn't meet professional standards, potentially affecting future event security contracts worth millions.

Taylor, who thanked the Academy for its "unwavering love & support" despite her nomination loss, told TMZ she "doesn't tolerate disrespect."
