Brits Oasis, reunited after a decade of feud, find vindication in their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The 41st class, announced during a themed episode of “American Idol,” also welcomes Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Sade, Wu‑Tang Clan, and other legends. The ceremony sits on Nov. 14 at Los Angeles’s Peacock Theater.

Induction eligibility kicks in 25 years after a first release, and a panel of over 1,000 music historians and former inductees votes. While the public ballot saw New Edition earn a million votes, it counted only once in the overall tally. Names that missed out this year include Mariah Carey, Shakira, and INXS, alongside others.

Phil Collins, previously honored in 2010 with Genesis, now receives a solo citation after seven No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Sade, who last released an album in 2008 and avoided public performances since 2011, joins the Hall on a rare spotlight. Wu‑Tang Clan’s 1990s New York rap legacy also secures a place among the legends.

Beyond performers, the hall unveiled early influence awards for Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, and Gram Parsons, while the songwriting and production tributes honored Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, and Rick Rubin. The event, streamed on ABC and Disney+, underscores the industry’s effort to preserve diverse musical milestones for future investors and fans alike.
