The fragile cease-fire brokered by Pakistan between Iran and the United States is unraveling due to a sharp disagreement over whether Lebanon and its Hezbollah militia are included in the deal. Iran insists the agreement encompasses Lebanon, where Israel launched over 100 airstrikes on Wednesday, targeting Beirut and southern Lebanon. The U.S. countered that Lebanon was excluded, focusing the pact solely on Iran.

The attacks killed 180 Lebanese and injured 900, threatening the truce brokered by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Iran's Parliament head Ebrahim Azizi warned Israel that only 'fire' would bring it to its senses, signaling potential retaliation. The dispute risks dragging Tehran back into conflict, as Iran views protecting Hezbollah as a strategic imperative and a test of its regional influence.
