Latino Coalition Launches $50M Voter Drive to Win Back Hispanic Democrats

Four leading Latino civil rights organizations are merging their voter outreach efforts to counter Republican gains among Hispanic voters in the 2024 election. The coalition combines UnidosUS Action Fund, Mi Familia Vota, LULAC, and the Latino Victory Project, marking a rare alliance between legacy groups that historically competed for the same donors and resources.

The groups will share canvassing operations, messaging strategies, and voter databases to target 39 competitive House districts where Latino turnout could prove decisive. Their focus includes three races Republicans won by less than one percentage point in Colorado, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. The coalition aims to register 250,000 new voters while coordinating political action committees to win back defected Democrats.

Rather than relying on celebrity endorsements that failed in 2024, the coalition is deploying trusted community messengers including business owners, pastors, and Spanish-language influencer Carlos Eduardo Espina. This strategy responds to polling showing majorities of Latinos criticize Trump's immigration and economic policies, suggesting potential for Democratic recovery despite recent setbacks.

The merger represents a strategic pivot toward grassroots organizing after Democrats' $50 million investment failed to prevent Trump from winning 46 percent of Latino men in 2024. By pooling resources and expertise, these organizations hope to avoid repeating past mistakes while building sustainable voter engagement infrastructure for future elections.
