The Flatiron Building's original 1910s revolving door, a relic of early 20th-century engineering, has been meticulously restored after being shipped to Indiana for craftsmanship. Developers The Brodsky Organization and The Sorgente Group faced challenges replicating the door's ornate details without original blueprints, relying on archival photos and a salvaged wood canopy found in the building's basement. Joe Schneider, a master millworker, led the replication using 3D scans and hand-carved white oak to match the door's turn-of-the-century design.

The project, budgeted at $600,000, blended historical accuracy with modern safety upgrades like tempered glass and reinforced mechanisms.
