Two former FBI agents have filed a federal lawsuit accusing Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel of political retaliation for their work on investigations into President Trump. The agents, identified as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, claim they were fired solely because of their involvement in the Arctic Frost case, which examined Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

In their complaint, the agents argue that their brief administrative roles on the investigation made them targets in a broader purge of personnel deemed disloyal to Trump. The lawsuit details how one agent was called to the Washington field office on Halloween and presented with a termination letter citing only Article II of the Constitution as justification. The other was fired days later despite efforts by Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro to save his position.

The case represents the latest challenge to the Trump administration's campaign against federal employees involved in investigations of the former president. The agents' lawyers say they faced threats of imprisonment and execution after being labeled "corrupt actors" by Trump, Patel, and others. Their lawsuit seeks reinstatement and damages, arguing that political loyalty should never be a prerequisite for FBI employment.
