A powerful storm swept through North Texas late Saturday, killing at least two people and displacing dozens as winds reached 89 mph and hail the size of tennis balls pummeled the region. The storm approached Wise County from the west around 10 p.m. Central time. One person died in Runaway Bay, approximately 60 miles northwest of Fort Worth, while another died in a rural area outside Springtown in Parker County.

Six people were transported to hospitals and 20 families were displaced in Wise County alone, according to County Judge J.D. Clark. Emergency responders cleared debris, provided medical care and reached affected residents overnight. Texas Task Force 2 conducted search and rescue operations while the American Red Cross and Texas Division of Emergency Management provided support. At least 11,000 people remain without power across the affected areas.

Stephanie Bryan, who lives about seven miles south of Springtown, described the terrifying experience. She and her family huddled in an interior hallway as their mobile home's underpinnings gave way, fearing the structure would be swept into the air. "It felt like you were being lifted up off of the floor," she said, adding she had "never been in a storm as intense as it was last night." Images show trailers flipped upside down and homes ripped apart, with wood boards lying where structures once stood.
