D4vd Arrested in Teen Death Case After Body Found in Tesla

Singer D4vd was arrested Thursday in Hollywood after the severely decomposed body of 13-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was discovered in the trunk of his Tesla last September. The Los Angeles Police Department detained David Burke, 21, around 4:30 p.m. and booked him into jail just after 10 p.m. without bail.

Police revealed evidence showing Burke traveled north to the Santa Barbara area in spring 2025, though they haven't specified why this trip matters to their investigation. The case took a dramatic turn when the medical examiner's office was barred from releasing information after police obtained a court order placing a "security hold" on the investigation.

Burke's attorneys, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, maintain his innocence, stating "the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death." The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office expects the case to be presented to the Major Crimes Division on Monday for review of whether sufficient evidence exists to file charges.
