Bondi Relocates to Military Base Amid Rising Threats

Attorney General Pam Bondi has moved from her Washington apartment to a military base in the area, becoming the latest Trump administration official to seek protection at taxpayer-funded facilities. The relocation comes after federal law enforcement flagged an increase in threats, including criticism related to her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

A senior official said the immediate catalyst was an uptick in threats following the capture and prosecution of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January. Drug cartels and critics have targeted Bondi, prompting her to relocate within the past month. The move mirrors similar decisions by other high-profile officials.

Other Trump administration figures who have relocated include Stephen Miller, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and several military secretaries have also moved to base housing. While some officials pay fair-market rent, it remains unclear how much others compensate for staying at historic government properties.
