A 76‑year‑old teacher died after a man discharged from Bellevue Hospital shoved him down 18th Street subway stairs. Police arrested the suspect, 32, who had been released an hour earlier from the hospital’s psychiatric ward.

The victim, Ross Falzone, suffered a traumatic brain injury, fractured spine and rib before dying in Bellevue’s emergency department. The incident follows four arrests by the suspect in the past three months.
