American Priorities injects $2M to challenge AIPAC-backed incumbents

American Priorities, a new super‑PAC positioned against pro‑Israel lobbying, pledged $2 million to back three progressive House hopefuls in New York. The money will fund TV, streaming and digital ads for Brad Lander, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez, all of whom have criticized Israel's military actions and face incumbents linked to AIPAC.

The largest slice, about $1 million, goes to Avila Chevalier's bid to unseat Adriano Espaillat in the 13th District, where the incumbent has drawn roughly $350,000 from AIPAC donors over five terms. Additional support includes $130,000 for Valdez and $175,000 from Leaders We Deserve, while Justice Democrats spend over $380,000 for Avila Chevalier. Competing outside groups have also poured cash: Latino Victory Fund pledged $750,000 to Espaillat, and BOLD PAC committed $600,000.

With primary day three weeks away, the infusion could level a race where incumbent Dan Goldman has self‑financed $1 million and pledged to match contributions. American Priorities' first New York outlay follows smaller spends in North Carolina, Texas and Pennsylvania, signaling a growing willingness of Muslim‑backed donors to fund anti‑AIPAC candidates ahead of June 23 primaries.
