TrumpRx Expands with 600 Generic Drugs in Major Healthcare Push

President Trump announced that TrumpRx will add more than 600 generic medications to its online platform, partnering with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, Amazon Pharmacy, and GoodRx. The move targets Americans concerned about prescription costs, with many drugs priced under $5.

Originally launched in February with 74 brand-name medications, TrumpRx now offers generics including blood pressure medications, antibiotics, and statins. The platform helps consumers find lowest prices for out-of-pocket payments, directing users to partner pharmacies in some cases.

Cuban's pharmacy, operating since 2022 with over 2,300 medications, marks up drugs by 15 percent and ships directly to patients. Despite Cuban's previous endorsement of Kamala Harris in 2024, both parties emphasized shared goals of reducing drug costs for Americans.

Trump's broader strategy includes tariff exemptions for manufacturers who lower prices and sell through TrumpRx. While the program primarily benefits Medicare patients with specific conditions like obesity, the initiative represents a significant government-private sector collaboration in healthcare pricing.
