Amazon is opening its logistics network to outside companies, offering shipping, fulfillment and delivery services to businesses beyond its own platforms. American Eagle Outfitters, Procter & Gamble, and Lands' End are among major corporations already using the service, with P&G shipping raw goods and 3M utilizing Amazon's freight network globally.

The company leverages over 80,000 trailers and 100 aircraft through partnerships to handle more than 6 billion parcels annually, generating $31 billion in parcel revenue in 2024. The expansion mirrors Amazon's AWS cloud computing strategy, which now captures 30% of the global market. Stock markets responded swiftly, with FedEx shares falling 9.1% and UPS dropping over 10%, while Amazon rose 1.4%.

This move transforms Amazon from marketplace operator to infrastructure provider, challenging traditional logistics giants. Like AWS democratized computing, Amazon Supply Chain Services aims to make enterprise-grade logistics accessible to businesses of all sizes. The shift underscores how Amazon's retail infrastructure has become a profit center rivaling its e-commerce dominance.
