Big Technologies PLC shares surged 14.4% after announcing a full settlement of the long-running Buddi Litigation. The electronic monitoring solutions provider will pay £38.5 million to former Buddi shareholders, resolving a 2023 lawsuit over its 2018 acquisition. The deal includes an immediate £31.5 million payment, with the remainder spread over 18 months.

This settlement removes a major overhang for investors. The company had already set aside £35 million for the case, which involved shareholders representing 7.9% of Buddi who claimed they were forced to sell shares. With the initial payment made, Big Technologies reported cash balances of £61.9 million as of year-end 2025.

Interim Chair Sangita Shah called the outcome a positive resolution to the protracted uncertainty. The company continues separate mediation with Sara Murray over related proceedings. For the FTSE-listed firm, clearing this legal hurdle should improve investor focus on its core electronic monitoring business and future growth prospects.
