Nigel Farage has invested £215,000 in Stack BTC Plc, the bitcoin treasury company led by former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng. The Reform UK leader's investment marks his first public funding of a cryptocurrency business and comes as he positions himself as a champion of Britain's digital assets industry. Stack Bitcoin is one of hundreds of companies that joined the global rush to buy and hold bitcoin last year.

Kwarteng, who served briefly as chancellor during the controversial mini-budget that triggered a gilts market crisis, serves as Stack's executive chair. Farage's investment was made through his media company Thorn In The Side Ltd and represents a strategic move to align with the crypto sector. The company owns 21 bitcoin worth just over £1 million and is listed on the UK's Aquis exchange with a current valuation of £3.85 million.

Stack's largest shareholder is Paul Withers, CEO of Direct Bullion, who has previously paid Farage hundreds of thousands of pounds for advertising. The company's shares have fallen by almost a third since announcing plans to hoard bitcoin, reflecting broader investor skepticism as bitcoin's price has slumped by nearly 40 percent to under $70,000 in the past six months. Kwarteng welcomed Farage as a 'strategic investor,' citing shared belief in bitcoin's expanding financial role.
