The CEO of Adnoc has labeled Iran's attacks on the Strait of Hormuz as "an act of terrorism against every nation" during a major energy conference in Houston. Sultan al-Jaber, head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, warned that no country should be allowed to hold the strategic waterway hostage, emphasizing the global economic stakes.

Nearly a fifth of the world's oil and gas flows through the strait, along with one-third of global fertilizer supplies. Adnoc has already suffered multiple attacks on its infrastructure, forcing production cuts and missed LNG deliveries to clients. The conflict has damaged critical energy facilities including QatarEnergy's Ras Laffan LNG facility and Adnoc's Ruwais refinery.

Industry leaders warn the war's economic impact extends beyond immediate supply disruptions. Chevron CEO Mike Wirth noted oil prices don't reflect the true disruption, while Baker Hughes CEO Lorenzo Simonelli predicted economic pain and industrial output destruction. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright defended the Trump administration's approach, stating the conflict couldn't be deferred to future administrations.
