Donald Trump's social media company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), has discussed charging traders up to $100,000 monthly for faster access to the president's posts on Truth Social via a new "Truth API" data service. Proprietary trading firms and hedge funds pay premiums for ultrafast feeds, as Trump's announcements regularly move global markets. The S&P 500 rallied 9.5 per cent after a 2025 Truth Social post, and oil prices fell sharply following his March 2026 comments on Iran talks.

Meanwhile, St James's Place lost two major advisory firms, Prospera Wealth Management and Wellesley Investment Management, overseeing £5bn in client assets. The departures follow reports that Sovereign Wealth, with £3bn, may also exit. SJP's share price dropped nearly 10 per cent. Rival Söderberg, backed by KKR and TA Associates, is expanding rapidly in the UK.

BlackRock assets surged to a record $15.3tn after $192bn in Q2 inflows, beating forecasts. CEO Larry Fink cited strong equity markets and 8 per cent organic base-fee growth. Active strategies attracted $53bn, offsetting $41bn index fund outflows.
