Jonathan Andic, son of Mango founder Isak Andic, has been detained by Spanish police regarding the investigation into his billionaire father's death during a mountain hike in 2024. The Catalan police confirmed Jonathan's custody on Tuesday, following his placement under investigation for possible murder after Isak fell 100 meters during their private hike.

Isak Andic, valued at €4.5bn according to Forbes, died at age 71 while hiking with Jonathan. The Andic family maintains the death was accidental, with Jonathan and his sisters owning 95% of Mango, while CEO Toni Ruiz holds the remaining 5%. Jonathan served as CEO during an unsuccessful mid-2010s stint but currently only has a board seat.

The fashion empire Isak built from a blouse importer in the 1970s now generates €3.8bn in annual sales, second only to Zara's parent Inditex in Spain. The family released a statement confirming Jonathan's cooperation with judicial proceedings while noting the investigation remains under judicial secrecy.
