Ferrari Profits Surge on Hyper-Personalisation and AI Wealth

Ferrari has raised its profit forecast for the year, attributing the increase to a boom in hyper-personalisation and demand from newly wealthy clients, particularly those benefiting from the artificial intelligence boom. The Italian luxury carmaker is the only European automaker to update its full-year guidance, with its order book full through 2027.

CEO Benedetto Vigna highlighted that while new AI wealth is an "opportunity," interest in customisation is widespread across all clients. Ferrari now expects an adjusted operating profit of at least €2.26bn, up from €2.22bn, with an industry-leading margin of at least 29.5 per cent. Despite a slight dip in vehicle shipments in the second quarter, operating profit rose 10 per cent to €605mn, driven by customisation spending.

Analysts, like Stephen Reitman of Bernstein, see Ferrari well-positioned to capture demand from the AI-generated wealth. Personalisation, covering both aesthetic and functional aspects, is projected to account for over 20 per cent of annual revenue. Vigna also expressed satisfaction with the uptake of Ferrari's first electric vehicle model.
