The invitation's dress code has sparked controversy — women are explicitly asked to wear "sexy party clothes" while men need only show up in "comfortable" and "decent" attire. The double standard is drawing criticism nearly a decade after the #MeToo movement swept Wall Street.

Einhorn once commanded significant respect on the Street, but his hedge fund has struggled in recent years. At its peak, Greenlight managed $12bn in assets. Today, that figure has shrunk to roughly $5bn. The party invitation's tone has struck some as tone-deaf given this backdrop and the broader reckoning over workplace conduct in finance.

The hedge fund has also been ensnared in drama with former macro analyst James Fishback, who admitted to mishandling confidential information and agreed to pay Greenlight's legal fees. Fishback is now running for Florida governor. Einhorn did not respond to a request for comment.
