Aston Martin has secured a £550mn debt package from Black Rock-owned HPS, despite objections from existing creditors. The deal includes a £450mn term loan and an additional £100mn facility, carrying an approximate 10 per cent interest rate.

Existing lenders, including hedge funds Arini Capital Management and Tresidor Investment Management, argued the transaction breached their borrowing terms by placing assets beyond their reach. They engaged US law firm Quinn Emanuel to challenge the deal, proposing alternative solutions to Aston Martin's financing needs.

The luxury carmaker, which has faced years of losses and accumulated over £1.5bn in debt, stated the new financing will enhance its liquidity to £340mn and provide flexibility for future product plans. Shareholders include Lawrence Stroll, Geely, and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
