State-run YPF SA submitted a proposal for a $25 billion oil project to Argentina's government, seeking inclusion in the RIGI incentive program that offers legal guarantees and tax breaks. CEO Horacio Marin announced the investment through a post on X, calling it LLL Oil. With no financing or timeline disclosed, the announcement sets the stage for what would be the largest single investment since President Javier Milei took office.

The proposal comes as Argentina's energy sector under Milei's administration has pushed to expand oil output. The RIGI program, identified by its Spanish acronym, is designed to attract capital by reducing regulatory risk. YPF, the country's leading energy company, sees the project as central to accelerating domestic production, though details remain sparse at this stage.

Marin offered no specifics on how the project would be funded or when production might begin. That vagueness leaves investors waiting for concrete terms. The sheer scale of the commitment, however, signals YPF's ambition to reshape Argentina's energy output under the current political direction.
