China is accelerating the establishment of rules governing the recycling and reuse of wind and solar equipment and aims to set up a closed-loop system for waste from the industry before 2030, China Central Television reported on Sunday.\n\nNational Development and Reform Commission officials said the system would cover the full supply chain of waste recovery and utilization as China rolls out measures to support circular-economy development during the 2026-2030 period, according to CCTV.\n\nThe initiative reflects Beijing’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on raw material imports and mitigate environmental impacts from the rapid expansion of renewable energy installations across the country.\n\nBy integrating recycling into the lifecycle of wind turbines and solar panels, policymakers hope to create a sustainable industrial ecosystem that aligns with China’s carbon‑neutral goals and enhances resource security for the coming decades.
