BSE Ltd will replace Wipro Ltd in the Nifty 50 benchmark index, with the change taking effect from September 30, 2026, after the close of trading on September 29.

The Index Maintenance Sub-Committee decided that BSE’s average free‑float market capitalisation of Rs 1,40,879 crore meets the requirement of being at least 1.5 times the six‑month average of the smallest constituents, while Wipro’s Rs 55,930 crore does not.

TVS Motor Company Ltd and Divi’s Laboratories Ltd were also deemed ineligible, as were HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd and Tata Consumer Products Ltd, whose market caps fell below the 1.5‑times threshold. Wipro will move to the Nifty Next 50 alongside Hitachi Energy India Ltd, Polycab India Ltd, Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd and Vodafone Idea Ltd.

BSE will also be added to the Nifty 100, replacing Indian Hotels Co Ltd, Lodha Developers Ltd, REC Ltd, Shree Cement Ltd and United Spirits Ltd, while the Nifty 50 Equal Weight index will mirror the main index change. All index updates become effective September 30, 2026.
