Russia Oil Output Stable in March After Three-Month Decline

Russia's crude oil production remained virtually flat in March following three consecutive months of declines, according to Bloomberg Markets. The stabilization comes as Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil infrastructure continue to disrupt both seaborne exports and domestic crude processing capabilities.

Since the beginning of the year, Russia's oil sector has faced mounting challenges from Ukrainian drone strikes targeting refineries and export terminals. These attacks have forced temporary shutdowns at key facilities and complicated the country's ability to maintain consistent production levels. The flat output in March suggests Moscow may be struggling to overcome these infrastructure constraints.

The production stability masks underlying vulnerabilities in Russia's energy sector. With Ukraine intensifying its campaign against oil infrastructure, seaborne exports remain hampered and crude processing capacity is limited. This could force Russia to rely more heavily on alternative export routes and domestic consumption to absorb excess production.
