Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama vowed to press ahead with a €4 billion luxury resort linked to Jared Kushner despite mounting protests. "There is not a single chance it will be stopped for as long as I am here," Rama said Tuesday during a joint press conference in Tirana with European Council President Antonio Costa.

The project has sparked controversy as residents and environmental activists claim it threatens a protected coastal area. Rama defends the development as one of Albania's most important tourism investments, arguing the country needs high-end developments to attract wealthier visitors and strengthen an industry central to its economic growth and international reputation.

The Qatari-backed project has strategic-investor status, accelerating permits and government approvals. A second Kushner-linked resort on Sazan Island worth €1.4 billion has also secured the designation. Albania's government appears willing to prioritize foreign investment despite local opposition, viewing such developments as crucial for economic modernization.
